Hachiroku
Hachiroku, or HR as it is more commonly known, is an online community surrounding the ownership of the Toyota Sprinter sports car from the mid 1980s. Hachiroku, which means eight-six in Japanese, is a shorthand reference to AE86, the chassis code of the Japanese cult-classic.
In 2002, I used the internet to gather members from all around Australia and built the community up from less than 100 members to currently over 2000 from all across the globe.
HR's Blog is the only AE86-exclusive new resource on the web and sees over 2000 unique users on a daily basis.
HR also is responsible for the AE86 Annual Meet; Owners from all across the country converge on a chosen location (normally a chosen capital city) and spend two days enjoying and catching up with friends made online through the discussion forums. 2010 will be the seventh annual event since its inception in 2004.
